Our year-round initiatives will ensure that #TeenWritersProject is able to carry out our mission and vision to support the next generation of storytellers. Being able to tell stories is a 21st-century skill that is relevant and necessary across social, professional, and academic platforms. As teachers, librarians, and writing professionals, we at #TWP have discovered that creative writing is a must among teens in order to develop a plethora of tools:

In order to improve all these notions, your annual gift will ensure that each teen writer have opportunities, equity, and access to experience the craft and career of writing across multiple genres (including academically), focus on telling their stories, their way in an uninterrupted, safe environment, obtain leadership training in the writing and publishing industry, and showcase their voice, experiences, and emotions through literary art.

#TWP's Initiatives
Teen Writers-in-Residence Summer Program ($50,000). Each summer, #TeenWritersProject invites emerging teen writers to learn the craft and career of writing during the summer. Your sponsorship will help provide the writing space, workshops, travel, lodging, dining, materials and small expenses needed for each teen to focus on a Work-in-Progress (WIP).

Rough Drafts: Street Side Museum ($25,000). Our annual public art exhibit showcases all the covers of our literary magazine we've published as a representation of the life-changing experiences that writing has had on teen writers. Your sponsorship will help provide the materials, supplies, personnel, and venue to needed to present their literary art creatively and professionally to the public.

Teen Editorial Board ($20,000). In addition to providing a collaborative and engaging space for teens to write, be published, and get hired, we also teach teen writers the business of being a writer by providing leadership skills training that they can use in any industry. Your sponsorship will help provide training materials, supplies, and small stipends to our teen interns, personnel and coaches.

The #TWP Quarterly Lit Zine ($15,000). Four times each year, we publish the literary works of teens in our literary magazine digitally and in print. The publication designed and written by teens for teens. Your sponsorship will help cover printing costs, shipping costs, and a small stipend for all teen contributors.
