OUR MISSION, VISION, and LITERARY CITIZENSHIP
Rooted in literary finesse...
MISSION: We provide a collaborative and engaging space for teens to write, be published and get hired!
VISION: To improve the reading, writing, social, cultural, and creative literacy of high school-age teens.
CITIZENSHIP: Real stories. Real people. Real world.
#TeenWritersProject is a Dallas-based nonprofit 501(c)3 organization committed to making writing accessible, engaging and fun for teens, especially those in vulnerable populations.

#TeenWritersProject is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides a collaborative and engaging, safe space for teens to write, be published, and get hired.
Teenagers today are the documentarists of our time. Our griot. Our storytellers. They need a platform to tell their stories, and ours, in a space that allows them to think on their own and develop their own ideas without judgment. So, we give them that space and room to be creative with it.

Toward our mission, we committed to providing high school teens with equitable writing and publishing opportunities, and training them to get hired in the writing industry and beyond. When teens write with us, they can improve their reading, writing, social, emotional, cultural, and creative literacy skills.
OUR WHY
You be the voice. We'll be the microphone.

Our story is not one that calls for tissues and tears. It's noneventful, but powerful. There was a dire need. We're filling it. It's that simple. It's that necessary.

We give teens a platform to express themselves--to share their stories of self-reflection, perseverance, and global perspective! We give them a chance to "practice how they play" until their words are transformed into stories that they want to hear—that they want to tell—that they want to read—the way they want to write them.
