The Next Generation of Storytellers
Writer's Studio. During our open studio hours, teens gather to write together, sort out their literary ideas and build storytelling skills that inspire teens to tell the stories they want to read as a reflection of the world in which they live.
L.I.T. Writers in Schools. These interactive, standards-based, and SEL-aligned writing workshops bring writing and publishing experts and certified English teachers into high school classrooms to introduce the craft and career of writing and give new meaning to the Writing Wednesday experience!
Editorial Board. In this leadership and career development program, we work to build economic, racial, and social equity for youth by hiring them to work in graphic design, marketing, social and broadcast media, and sales.
Publishing. From our Lit Zine, reflection journal, books, and calendars, to our blog, podcast, and broadcast, we intersect site, senses, and sound. Whether you want to read it, watch it, or listen to it, we have something for every taste.
Teen Writers-in-Residence Summer Program. Teens join us for eight weeks during the summer to learn the craft and career of writing. They work with industry experts and get paid to write the stories that they want to tell.
Literary Events. All year long, we host literary events for teens that build bridges to new worlds. Authors, writers, and poets of all ages dive into book debates, sharpen their wordsmith skills, perform poetry, read excerpts, and meet literary heroes at our events to live the stories they want to tell.
