“There is no doubt being able to write formal essays is an important part of a teen's academic development but creative writing, for all its purposes, strengthens academic development.” -delmetria millener, founder, #TeenWritersProject
L.I.T. Writers in Schools
Our interactive writing lessons are a fun and engaging way to inspire students to create thought-provoking stories and essays and develop a healthy respect for the craft of writing. We blend creative and academic reading and writing pedagogy in a way that gives new meaning to the Writing Wednesday experience.
Teens will learn how to use their personal experiences to make connections that help them develop their voice and personal writing style. They will view and use writing as a powerful form of creative, personal, and academic expression.
By the end of their time with us, teens will have improved their reading, writing, social, cultural, and creative literacy and have the skills necessary to write commercially, creatively, and academically.

THE L.I.T. FOUNDATION
- Liberating. We believe that every student should have equal access to quality, classic, modern, contemporary culturally responsive reading and writing resources.
- Innovating. We advocate for students and teachers in vulnerable populations. We teach the whole child, despite their background, lifestyle, or zip code, always and all ways blending tradition and technology.
- Transforming. We support varied perspectives in literature by getting feedback from teachers and students to use as best-practice to encourage and shape writing habits in all students.
STORYTELLING: THE ROUX OF LIFE THE WAY YOU WANT TO SEASON IT.
