Summer Writing Intensive for Teens!
This high-energy writing event is designed for teen writers to learn how to write the stories they want to read as a reflection of who they are and how they view the world around them. For a full day, teen writers will spend time with industry professionals and other teen writers, writing, understanding how powerful storytelling can be and learning the business of being a writer!
Accessibility
This Intensive takes place on Zoom and is designed for accessibility. Supplemental workshop material will be available through Google Drive. We will provide closed captions auto-generated by Rev during the Zoom sessions. All of these services are accessible to students using screen readers.
If you have questions about potential needs, or if there are any other ways we can make this intensive accessible for you, please contact us before registering and we’ll answer within 24 hours.
Other than a computer, the only other technical requirement for the intensive is a Google account. If you don’t have one, you can create a free one here.

Trivia
What are the differences between a writing intensive, workshop and conference?!
Intensive: a one to three-day event where attendees participate in writing sessions facilitated by industry professionals. Traditional intensives call for sessions being back-to-back with short breaks in between. An intensive is fast-paced and time-constrained, thus the name.
Workshop: usually a few hours to a one to two-day event facilitated by a single industry professional. Traditional workshops feature a single session on a single topic that may be broken down over the course of the workshop.
Conference: conferences can last up to a week and are facilitated by many industry professionals. Vendors, sponsors, employers and other industry-related businesses and organizations may have booths, tables or their own seminars within the larger conference. Attendees can expect to participate in a variety of sessions on a variety of topics.
