Call #1: Girl, Fix Your Place!

First, a pandemic happened, then a racial crisis happened which caused protesting to happen, and mandatory masks became a thing. Then, injustice happened when police learned “how to get away with murder,” a president ran amok, voting was a hoot and the season of a Black, woman vice president is about to start.
There is plenty for girls to write about in their communities, cities, schools, neighborhoods and in their countries. Historically, girls prove to be more resilient than any other gender, and that saying: behind every good man, there’s a strong ass woman, is a fact. And she’ll be there, waiting to make life right when all goes wrong, with a smile. So, the more opportunities this world gives our girls to fix things, the more we can give girls the opportunity to write about those things and tell the story right. Girls are storytellers, so girl, tell your story! What or who in your neighborhood, community, city, school, home, state, etc., do you want to fix? Tell your story in your genre or flex and write in another genre!

Call #2: Boy, Take Your Place!

Fellas, as the next generation living in such socially, culturally and economically tumultuous times, the pressure is on for you to become leaders. Real leaders, like the leaders of old. Not a "behind-the-screens" leader, but ones who impose positive change, make differences, and make ways.
But with the eyes of the world watching and criticizing, how will you accomplish this task? Do you feel like there is an unrealistic weight on you to succeed in a world where there's no longer a clear definition of what that even means? Will you will stand on the sideline or take your place as a leader, a strength, an agent of social change...an influencer? Tell your story in your genre or flex and write in another genre!

Call #3: Mother. May I?

Earth Month has come and gone. Environmental activism was a hot topic from Earth Hour on March 29th through the end of April. However, since it’s gone—now what?
Do we put away our reusable shopping bags and go back to plastic? Start buying bottled water again? Stop ride-sharing? Even though the day is gone, with pollution on the rise and earth’s resistance to it on the decline, we still need to take charge and do something to help save our planet. Write to or about Mother Earth in your genre or flex and write in another genre.

Call #4: Hidden Figures!

Teachers are usually an unsung hero or a hidden figure of a great writer's success. Yet, we never about that teacher. The are many, like teachers, who walk this earth with brilliant talents, who have done amazing deeds or who are just awesome in their career fields, or just, period! But, they receive little or no recognition for being dope. But, they should! Find a hidden figure, alive or dead, and write about what made him or her unsung. Write in a genre that is habitual or flex your creativity and imagination and write in another genre.
Call #5: Get Active. Go Green!

Green is the new black and eco-conscious shoppers are fortunate that trendy stores are now bursting with organic cotton, hemp, and bamboo goodness. Replacing all of your belongings with better, greener things is tempting, but can your wallet and the planet sustain? Write about eco-consciousness in your genre or flex and write in another genre.
