"Writing molds and shapes concepts. Audio gives birth to a million images in a million brains."—dmillener
The #TWP Quarterly is a contemporary literary magazine designed, written, and managed by teens to amplify the dynamic voices of their generation. While it predominantly features the written and visual works of teens, we partner with high school theatre classes to proudly present SoundStage—a unique audio dramatization broadcast that transforms scripts written by teens into vibrant audio performances, voiced by teen actors in high schools across the US.
Allow yourself to be immersed in symphony of voices, the unfolding of your imagination, and the tales that dance between reality and fiction. Listeners will dive deep into narratives that pulsate with emotion and paints a world far beyond the ordinary. Tune in to SoundStage’s audio performances: every listen becomes a journey, where stories aren’t just heard—they are experienced.

How SoundStage Works
SoundStage Production. Once we've chosen a script to publish, the SoundStage team takes on the tasks of casting teen actors, orchestrating rehearsals, and eventually recording the script, bringing it alive in a rich auditory medium.
Feature In The #TWP Quarterly Lit Zine. SoundStage-curated scripts are featured in our lit zine and includes a script synopsis, a bio of the budding playwright and actors, and a QR code or link leading readers to the online audio performance.

To Participate
- Must be a high school student to participate. (If you are not a theatre student, contact the theatre teacher or director at your school.)
- Submit a 1-2 minute audio recording. This could be a reading from a chosen script or a personal introduction.
- Teacher Recommendation. This can come from any teacher at your school who knows you well. It must include the teacher's full name and school-issued email.
- Statement of Interest and Resume. A brief written statement is required (200-300 words) explaining why you're interested in the SoundStage production and what you hope to bring to and gain from the experience. Your resume must detail any previous acting or voice-over experience. (Please provide this information in one document.)
By embedding the SoundStage productions into The #TWP Quarterly Lit Zine, we do more than just exhibit the written word. We champion the dynamic art of audio theater, giving teen scriptwriters a dual stage: one in print and the other in performance.
STORYTELLING: THE ROUX OF LIFE THE WAY YOU WANT TO SEASON IT.
