YOU HAVE A STORY TO TELL. WE HAVE A PLATFORM FOR YOU TO TELL IT!
BEING A WRITER IS NOT A TREND. IT'S A LIFESTYLE!
Teen Writers Block

We have created a collaborative and engaging space for teens to write together from around the world! The Teen Writers Block is a hybrid, safe space for teen writers in Dallas and around the world to write, discuss, share, workshop, and vibe with other teen writers!
Join us for writing sessions that inspire teens to tell the stories they want to read as a reflection of the world in which they live. Not only will we spend time writing, we will help teens understand how powerful storytelling can be creatively, academically and financially.

About
Each summer, between June and August, aspiring teen writers participate in our Teen Writers-in-Residence program at an exclusive, physical location in Dallas, Texas. Up to 18 teens will have the opportunity to focus on telling their stories in an uninterrupted environment and gaining support from members of the literary community to fully develop their publishing pursuits!
During the first half of the program, participants will explore the craft of writing by choosing a focus on fiction, nonfiction, journalism, poetry, film/stage, or music. During the second half, participants learn the business of being a writer including how to market themselves and their works, and how to develop content for various media to promote the publication of their completed work.
At the end of the program, participants will publicly share their completed work. Short stories, poetry, and journalistic pieces will be published in The #TWP Quarterly literary magazine, stage plays will be performed at a theater venue, screenplays will be filmed and presented on-screen, and songs will be performed during a private concert.
Residency Requirements:
1. Attend a welcome dinner.
2. Work daily on your writing project.
2. Document your progress.
3. Workshop your work-in-progress.
4. Participate in critique sessions.
5. Record a 1-minute video about your experience.
