“Through the craft of writing, we have the power to explore the depths of our shared humanity, to challenge prevailing narratives, and to offer new perspectives that can ignite understanding and ignite change.”  —James Baldwin
The future success and quality of our cultural landscape in the workforce depends on a continuous supply of highly trained, highly capable literary talent who know how to communicate across generations, cultures, industries, and sensitivities.  —delmetria millener
Advancing education in reading, writing and publishing is a critical focus for #TeenWritersProject. As part of our efforts to develop the next generation of writers, editors, authors, and literary professionals, we bridge the gap between literary arts and education to prepare teens for a competitive workforce and promote equity in the writing and publishing industry.

We know firsthand the importance of educating young people in these areas. The future success and quality of our cultural landscape in the workforce depends on a continuous supply of highly trained, highly capable literary talent who know how to communicate across generations, cultures, industries, and sensitivities.

For high school students, especially in Title I schools, who are serious about careers in writing and publishing, we are proud to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed academically and competitively, 21st century workforce.

As a leading organization in the literary community for teens, it is our obligation to work with a network of seasoned writers, editors, and publishers to develop programs that educate and inspire tomorrow’s literary professionals.
