“While there are organizations out there that support writers—and even teen writers—there are few ones out there that allow teens to take the lead in their own activism and self-advocacy. #TeenWritersProject allows me to write the stories I haven’t seen written before.” —Workshop Participant
Teen can write. Teens will write. They just need to be able to write from a place of compassion and spirit without consequence or judgment. —delmetria millener, founder
CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOPS

Craft. Teens learn how to build storytelling skills that inspire them to tell the stories they want to read as a reflection of the world in which they live. They quickly understand how powerful creative and cultural expression can be.
Career. Using powerful storytelling as leverage, we work to build economic, racial, and social equity by teaching teens the business of writing. Teens will learn how to use writing as a way to break cycles of generational poverty and lengthy employment gaps. We give them access and opportunities to effectively start a career as a writer, smoothly transition into adulthood, and turn employment challenges into executable, profitable plans.
We hope that by reading, writing, and exploring literature through this workshop, teens can celebrate the cultural, artistic, and social traditions, experiences, and contributions of writers before them, and consider them as a standard by which to measure their own literary achievements and success.
