As funny as it would sound, I needed to make sure I cross check the meaning of gun control all over again to be sure. About my stance on incident of April 3rd, I have no idea what could have triggered the mass shooting but I’m pretty sure whatever happened definitely didn’t need people getting hurt and shot at for or for no reason at all. Also gonna put the blame on the police force ( the officers ) that were stationed. if they had not neglected their jobs, lives probably won’t be lost that day or there won’t even be a mass shooting to begin with.

For gun control, this is a very very delicate issue. I know people should be allowed to possess guns for self defense but then again how are we sure people ain’t gonna use it for the wrong reasons. Civilians being in possession of firearms I believe should be allowed in states of emergency and instances of self defense. Many crimes have being committed via civilians who had legal arms but used it for the wrong reasons. I honestly don’t know the right words to say about this but this is what I feel though.

Do we know that the police neglected their jobs? I watched and listened to the videos, whoever that was, was determined cops or not. And even if the cops were doing their jobs, those sounded like semi-automatic weapons. Do cops carry those on a regular basis? And I'm guessing if they did, then Black people would have complained that the cops were carrying them in their neighborhood unjustifiably and stereotyping them. You can't win.

No one should be carrying semi-automatic weapons, having those types of weapons available to the public is the reason why mass shootings happen in the first place. The justice system is actively against minority groups especially black people so the outrage of a corrupt field having access to deadly weapons would be completely justified not just "unjustifiably stereotyping".

My stance on gun control is that I am pro gun control because people need to be able to carry firearms so that people can protect themselves and even if the government bans guns people still have other weapons at their disposal. Guns fall into the wrong hands a lot, that's why I feel that there should be some laws in place to measure your intentions when you buy a gun. People that don’t have good intentions or have a bad track record with previous weapons should either not be allowed a gun or should be arrested immediately on the spot they should not have any permission with any firearms or weapons. I feel that some gun laws for the people that are anti gun control should be in place not all but only some, people that are known for bad things should not have guns.

Policies? What policies? People in America don't care about policies. They argue and fight about their civil rights and freedoms and never want to make any compromises that might make them uncomfortable. But in other countries there is less violence because fewer weapons.

Speaking for myself, I come from a country (AFRICAN to be exact) where there isn’t lesser violence. Trust me it may seem like fewer weapons but they’ve got a lot so much more corruption going underground. I have no idea if America has policies for gun control or not, but I‘ve said what I felt.

My stance on gun control is that there should be police officers stationed at different event and outside of big building even as a security guard. There are of course crooked cops but if the shooter saw a police officer maybe they would have changed their minds on shooting the downtown area. Of course hun control can have its bad side because now anyone can have a gun with a permit, so it’s a 50/50 with gun control with because sometimes the wrong person just have their hands on a gun.

cops, have the ability to do anything they possible can so cops are the problem when it comes to gun violence.

I feel that gun violence is the cause today. Kids and teens fall in the wrong foot steps and follow parents and others. Lots of celebrities and people would still be alive and happy without guns. With guns people dont feel safe about going out and sending their kids to school. I think guns should be illegal, but this is just how i feel.

Policies could help prevent some forms of violence but not all. People around the world fear for their lives everyday which causes them to have some sort of protection. But some people may use violence just because they want to which is why policies may not help gun control. The most a policy could do is make them think twice about what they're about to do which could end up being effective. In my opinion, even with gun policies in place, the situation would've still happened depending on why it happened.

My stance on gun control is something that should be put in place. The reason I believe in gun control is because with it there would be less violence. Without gun control it is easier to harm others and it is even possible to take a life. Others may argue that guns are needed to protect ourselves but the only people we are protecting ourselves from are other people with guns. Overall, gun control is needed to protect everyone in our society.

My stance on gun control is simple: I think we should get guns out of peoples hands that should not have them. Too many crimes are happening because of this and it is time to get a hold of it. I think we should have another secret service just like the f.b.i but that only focuses on guns.

I think gun violence is bad but even with new policies to prevent gun violence due to the second amendment. What we need is to make guns less accessible, and make them strict to use. Nowadays people can get guns and use them all the time.If we make them less accessible, like you needing to have some kind of certification to use them, like be a cop for 15 or 10 years,or serve your country. Something that makes them less accessible and more strict to use them. Yes i know guns are used to protect yourself and your family, but more people have harmed somebody or even harmed themselves, then just trying to help their family and friends.

My stance on gun control is neutral. I say this because either side you choose you will lose. There is always a different view point and reason why civilians should and should not have guns. For example, on one side people say yes to civilians having guns because they can come in handy for self defense. On the other hand what's to stop them from using the guns in an aggressive way.Clearly America has a lot of issues that they need to work out and the sad part is that this is not just happening in the United States. The way I see it there is no real solution that can work for every situation.Blaming the police or the people who shot those innocent people will get you no where. It's not like this is the first time to happen and I'm sure it will happen again whether we like it or not.Honestly those that got hurt were at the wrong place at the wrong time.We as a country need to rebuild a system that can actually protect everyone.

My stance on gun control is I think there should be more laws and regulations against them. Right now it's too easy to get a gun, the should be age limits and mental health tests and you must have a gun license. I believe that people who have guns in the houses with children should check them every day and keep the ammo in another safe location that the children won't find.

With the fact that anyone nowadays can get a gun is a mind boggling thing. I know there are some pluses when it comes to gun control, mainly self defense but a taser can function as the same thing. A war crazed person can easily get a gun just from the fact that they were in the army and in a factor they might have PTSD and go shoot up a school or a park. People that happen to be younger than 15 have seen more gun activity than a grown adult. It is a big issue that anyone can get a gun so easily in the past couple years and those group shootings are going to still be on the increase in the United states.

Although a taser could be used as a self defense weapon someone with a gun could easily back away and shoot. And yes a war vet would be allowed to own a gun just for being a veteran, that is the reason mental health checks should be made on those who own guns. It makes me furious that some kids have seen more gun violence than most adults. However it just proves that those who own guns should be held more responsible as parents and citizens.

My stance on gun control is that people should have more control over it and not use it just for anything. Also, there needs to be more laws enforced over guns. Guns aren't something that could be controlled that easily. Even if there were more laws put in place to stop the shootings it wouldn't stop anything. The reason most shooters do what they do is because they're in an awful place mentally. So we should do a mental health evaluation on gun owners every week.

Gun Control is not the main problem. Gun influence is the biggest issue we face. How can we have gun control policies when the same forces who have the power to make this happen are influencing violent crimes? Gun violence is pushed through propaganda, if you think about it... Video games that encourage humans to step into a simulation to kill one another, music that invokes killing with guns is pushed through mainstream media, movies and T.V. shows that create realistic scenes for acts of gun violence. Our society is programmed to hate and kill through most media outlets, but yet when things such as a mass shooting occur the powers that be want to protect 'us.' We don't need to address gun policies, we need to address propaganda policies that influence gun violence.

Personally, I think that the gun control laws need to be harsher. More specifically the rules themselves, and the consequences for disobeying them. Guns can easily fall into the hands of minors and the mentally ill. Due to the current accessibility of firearms in the U.S, more tragedies like this are likely to occur.

I think that gun control has nothing to do with anything. If we are being 100% honest, it seems that nowadays anyone can purchase and use a gun freely with zero consent. We try to bring about new policies and laws, but we have yet to dig into the root cause of the issue rather than seeing it from a surface perspective. No one deserves to lose their life because of the stupidity that government officials and even citizens tend to oversee. I, myself, have always thought about if certain people didn't have access to physical weapons. I think it is almost impossible to envision a world without guns! This has almost become a civil rights issue in the modern-day.

Gun control and gun laws in general are very flawed. Firearms should require a much harder process to obtain, including several background checks. Children and young adults still in High School should not be able to purchase or even have access to guns (18 or 19 year olds that might still be in High School). We need to better our laws and reinforce the restrictions.

I think that guns should be more difficult to get, there should be a regulation on guns, maybe even a test to see if you or those closest to you are mentally stable. As a person who comes from another country, it's shocking to see how easily a person can get a gun in the US. I understand that there are people who want to feel secure, but you can't give an entire country the freedom to have a killing tool in their hands, eventually, they or someone else using their gun will hurt someone. And the evidence is there, just look how people who shoot schools get their guns, the parents casually had one in their closets, a friend has one etc. Americans always talk about freedom, but your freedom ends when you interfere with other people's lives.

It is the right of the people to bear arms, as said in the second amendment of the constitution. Although this is our right, not everyone should be eligible to own a gun. Although there should be more gun control laws, those laws should not stop the people from carrying them but to make it harder to own a gun legally. No criminals or those with a mental illness should bear arms as they are a risk to themselves and others. We should be allowed to own and carry guns as long as we pass a mental health test and have no criminal background.

I'm all for gun control, it is too easy for people in this country to own firearms. With having easy access to guns there are more violent crimes such as mass shootings, and hate crimes. We as a country have had too many mass shootings that have affected many types of people, especially children. Australia in 1996 had one of the worst mass shootings in their history and it was their last since they banned all semi-automatic rifles and all semi-automatic and pump-action shotguns in the same year. Mass shootings have unfortunately become the norm in America and now everyone has become desensitized to it.

This is so because having gun control taken seriously can save a lot of human lives, while if they don’t take gun control seriously it can end up hurting and killing so many lives. I know a lot of people would disagree, but our lives matter more. Only the people who are allowed to own a gun are the ones who keep other people safe, which are the police officers. My stance on gun control is that it should be taken more into consideration . Mostly because of the incidents that have been happening with guns. The problem is allowing people who shouldn't even have the possession of a dangerous weapon like a gun. Matter in fact , they should take many tests of someone to get a license of a gun before even able to purchas it and own a gun . Even a persons current and past mental health issues should be a concern since you dont know if giving a gun to someone who could possibilty cause a problem to others because of their current health. Gun control should be taken more seriously with how more and more people are getting guns .
